Not just paper

I do a lot of different crafts, not just paper crafts, that just happens to be my favorite.  I also do some easy sewing, key word: Easy!  LOL

I've had this idea swirling in my head for awhile but never sat down to actually do it.  Then I saw this weeks challenge over at fantabulouscricut and I figured it was time to try it.  This week's challenge, in honor of National Sewing Month, was to create a project using some kind of stitching, even faux stitching.

This was a definite collaboration project.  I needed some help from my mom (and her fabric stash) to come up with this but I'm really happy with it and excited to share...

I used my Sweet Treats cartridge to cut out patterns to sew on a set of dish towels.  I love them!  I picked up this inexpensive set of dish towels at Walmart just in case it was a total failure.  LOL  I used that really thin cardstock, Georgia Pacific, you can get for $5-$6 at Walmart to cut out my patterns than hit up my mom's fabric stash.  Than I just appliqued my ice creams on the towels.

Here's my single scoop... the fabric made me think of Cherry Chocolate Ice Cream

Double Scoop... isn't that marble fabric so cool and kinda ice-creamy.  LOL

Double scoop w/ a strawberry on top.  I needed help w/ the strawberry from my mom but I like the way it turned out.

The big daddy triple scoop.  So colorful.  Just reminds me of summer.

So that's what I've been up to the last couple nights.  Next I'm going to try the cupcakes on Sweet Treats to see if I can come up with a cupcake set of towels.  I'm already thinking Christmas gifts maybe???  We're a crafty family and I know the girl cousins would really love something like this.  Well... I think/hope they would, LOL.

Thanks for taking a look.  Do you guys like these?  Let me know!  :)

Cheers
-Amanda
