this week

Anyone else insanely inspired and motivated after so much blog-world activity this weekend.  There were so many cool blog hops and challenges for World Card Making Day.  I have so many ideas swirling in my head and wish I didn't have that pesky work to go to.  I'd much rather stay home and craft :)

I really loved all of Christina's challenges at http://www.creationswithchristina.com/.  My goal this week is to complete every challenge she posted.  I have them all written down and on my craft table ready to get going on them!

How about some non-paper craftiness??  I wanted to share with you a Halloween wreath I made....

This is on a gate in the front of the house... right by where I set up a spooky little cemetery. ;)  I think I'm going to get that all put up this week too.  Man I love Halloween.

Hope everyone has a fantastic week!  I have a long "to-do" list that I guess I need to fit in around all the crafty stuff I want to do too.  Take care!

Cheers

Not just paper

I do a lot of different crafts, not just paper crafts, that just happens to be my favorite.  I also do some easy sewing, key word: Easy!  LOL

I've had this idea swirling in my head for awhile but never sat down to actually do it.  Then I saw this weeks challenge over at fantabulouscricut and I figured it was time to try it.  This week's challenge, in honor of National Sewing Month, was to create a project using some kind of stitching, even faux stitching.

This was a definite collaboration project.  I needed some help from my mom (and her fabric stash) to come up with this but I'm really happy with it and excited to share...

I used my Sweet Treats cartridge to cut out patterns to sew on a set of dish towels.  I love them!  I picked up this inexpensive set of dish towels at Walmart just in case it was a total failure.  LOL  I used that really thin cardstock, Georgia Pacific, you can get for $5-$6 at Walmart to cut out my patterns than hit up my mom's fabric stash.  Than I just appliqued my ice creams on the towels.

Here's my single scoop... the fabric made me think of Cherry Chocolate Ice Cream

Double Scoop... isn't that marble fabric so cool and kinda ice-creamy.  LOL

Double scoop w/ a strawberry on top.  I needed help w/ the strawberry from my mom but I like the way it turned out.

The big daddy triple scoop.  So colorful.  Just reminds me of summer.

So that's what I've been up to the last couple nights.  Next I'm going to try the cupcakes on Sweet Treats to see if I can come up with a cupcake set of towels.  I'm already thinking Christmas gifts maybe???  We're a crafty family and I know the girl cousins would really love something like this.  Well... I think/hope they would, LOL.

Thanks for taking a look.  Do you guys like these?  Let me know!  :)

Forever Young Project

So let me share a little something with you... When I first see a new Cricut cartridge, almost always, I *have* to have it.  Than I think about it and wonder how much will I really use it, do I *really* need it, etc, etc.  I usually talk myself out of getting it.  Than.... it somehow ends up in my stash ;)

That's how I felt about Forever Young.  When I first saw the previews I thought how adorable, gotta get it. Than I thought, eh... not sure I'll use it that much.  Well than after seeing so many cute projects being done with it (the Cricut msg. board is enabler central, gah!) I put it on my maybe list.  One late night cruising ebay... she found her way to my house (and for under $20 bucks, score!).

I did some practice cuts when I first got it, used a couple phrases on scrapbook pages than came up with this idea.....

My office/crafty space is done in pink/white/red.  I have had these 6x6 frames for a few years I think.  They came from the good ol' Target dollar spot and I bought a bunch of them.  Well one day I saw them in my craft closet and came up with this idea.  Right by my craft desk I have a little wall space that these 3 pictures will hang on vertically.  I just think they are too cute.  All of it was made going through my scraps, except the mats and you can barely see them in this picture, but they are red and pink under the white.

Thanks for taking a look!

ps-- forgive the boring blog look.  I'm trying to spruce it up... so it will definitely be changing.
